A few years ago I wrote an article that was published by a small online publication and subsequently revised and copied by someone at Vice Media who passed it off as their find. Such is the nature of digital media.

But now the subject has made it’s way to this weekend’s episode of Raw Travel TV and I think will be the 1st time it’s been covered on U.S. TV.

We ask the question, where did punk rock really begin? Was it in the UK with the Sex Pistols? or the USA with The Ramones? How about Peru with Los Saicos? Yes, Peru. This weekend on Raw Travel TV, we’ll delve into that question (albeit quickly & lightly in deference to our other viewers) as we look at the legendary Peruvian Punk Rock Scene, past and present. Even if you don’t dig punk rock you may find this short bit of largely untold music anthropology & history interesting.

Even if you don’t dig punk rock (why are you reading this blog I might ask?), you may find this short bit of largely untold music anthropology & history interesting.

And if you want to read a more in-depth view, below is a link to the said article from several years ago. Enjoy!
